Constantly apply cheerfulness, if for no other reason than just to feel good about yourself. If you are in a cheerful mood the people you meet will cheer up as well, it is infectious. If you have a sense of gratitude for everything, this will also help cheer you up.
Birth and death define the limits of life. Within those limits, there is a structure upon which to base one’s decisions. The ancient’s believed death was not an ending, but a transformation, a threshold. Beyond it is something else, some mystery, we can only be sure it is unlike this life.
As society grows more intelligent there seems to be less happiness and more trouble. You can find happiness by leading a simple, plain and natural life. To find the simple natural way of being, you must liberate your own being, then you can lead others out of the mire.
Fellowship among us should be based on concerns that are universal. Lasting fellowship should not be the private interests of individuals, but rather the goals of humanity. Fellowship in the open succeeds, if unity like this prevails even difficult and dangerous tasks can be accomplished.
