In any situation we can find out what is true by studying ourselves; look at all your emotions, both the good and the painful, everything. There is a lot of encouragement to do this and self-cultivation gives us the method. You have to find out for yourself what is true.
In our actions we make arrangements that have a center or orientation but all structure and orientation is arbitrary. It all depends on the observer and where it is observed from. However, our center resides in our consciousness, but there is still no absolute measure.
When we think we know the answers, we are difficult to guide. When we realize we don’t know, it becomes easy to find our way. By keeping your mind open you become aware of numerous possibilities. The ancients taught the supreme value of a beginner’s mind.
Be equanimous and agreeable when you deal with others, when performing service be respectful and serious, be thorough and precise in activity, be careful and prudent in your speech. Although manners and conduct are not self-cultivation, do not slight them.
