Our reaction to suffering is usually habitual, we feel cheated somehow, or resentful. It is something that happens as a reaction to the pain or pleasure of our existence. Recognize suffering as suffering, be curious and mindful of your reactions.
All we care about is our own survival and gratification, doing this only surrounds us with our own illusions. We do not see the world as it truly is, we ignore the dilemma of our own existence. Only when we realize our true nature do the illusions disappear.
Hope and fear are both phantoms that arise from thinking about yourself. When we don’t see the self as self, what do we have to fear? See the world as yourself, treat the world as yourself, love the world as yourself, have faith in the way things are, then you can care for all things.
Once we have accomplished something, it is tempting to relax, and forget about troubling over the details at the finish. These are times when everything appears to be balanced, complete and in harmony, this is the time to recognize the moments that bode change to an unbalanced state.
