Meditation is the only activity that doesn’t add anything to the picture. It is a totally nonviolent, nonaggressive practice. Not filling the space, allowing for the possibility of connecting with unconditional openness; this practice provides the basis for real change.
The wise remain humble so that others are not aroused against them. Avoid all conflict whenever possible. If conflict or trouble seeks you out, use only the minimum amount force required to deal with it. To do more would be to fall into excess.
There is no greater illusion than fear, no greater wrong than preparing to defend ourselves, no greater misfortune than having an enemy. Whoever can see through all fear will always be safe. If you understand this, peace and harmony naturally arise.
In order to abolish old ways and to establish a better order is difficult. Both abolishing old and establishing new requires qualified people of ability. The key is to respect the wise and virtuous persons and offer your assistance to them to establish the new order.
