Without giving up hope that there is somewhere better to be, that there is someone better to be, we will never relax with who we are or where we are. To think we will finally get it together is unrealistic. One must give up hope that this way of thinking will bring us satisfaction.
You are the only one to blame for your habits and your shortcomings. Equally it is a mistake to lose self esteem simply because you have some flaws. Looking at your shortcomings and taking steps to eliminate them should be looked at as a dispassionate project.
We are stuffed with trivia, the more trivia the more anxieties. We are led to believe consequences are grave when we fail to distinguish good from evil. Don’t become obsessed with trivialities. Be open and accept all things as they are, keep your life and thoughts simple.
The force of inner truth depends chiefly on inner stability and preparedness. From this state, the mind springs the correct attitude towards the outer world. Retain your inner independence, this way you will have inner peace and the power to deal with the outside world.
