Life is glorious, but also wretched. Gloriousness we feel inspired and connected, we want it to be like this forever. Wretchedness, life’s painful aspect humbles and softens us up. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other; one inspires us, the other softness us.
We all need a loadstone, some center from which to operate. For some it is home for others it is merely to withdraw into our own hearts. In order to do this, we need guidance and self-cultivation to return to our natural state, our unsullied, pure inner person.
We are taught to distinguish good from evil, agreement from disagreement and this causes us conflict and anger. Having no desires and accepting things as they are will give you peace, but you must share this idea with others for we are all part of them and they are all part of us.
If you have great obstacles to overcome, you can accomplish this by clear thinking, patience and perseverance. Even though it may be arduous, you will succeed. If you understand the difficulties clearly and remain persevering, the obstacle will be overcome.
Quote: You have everything you need, don’t ask for more.
