To feel unconditional loving kindness for others we first must train in being honest, loving and compassionate towards ourselves. Doing this, we sow seeds of our future well-being and gradually become aware of “what causes happiness is also what causes distress”.
It is only human interaction that creates meaning to things. For example, our house may be precious to us, but this only comes from the value and memories we associate with it. As long as we remember that the meaning we attribute to objects are all subjective, this way we will avoid mistakes.
To accept all things means to hold no anger or resistance towards anything, rid yourself of any concept of separation. Foregoing antagonism and separation you enter into the harmonious oneness with all things. Acceptance is the very essence of life.
When you feel stuck, cooperating with others on a common goal and concentrating on this goal, will help you dissolve these barriers. If you are free of all selfish exterior motives and are united in this joint task or goal, this can also dissolve the hardness of egotism.
