If we look for that soft heart we guard so carefully, we can’t find it, all we find is a kind of tenderness with some sadness. This sadness is not about somebody mistreating us. The sadness is an inherent sadness, unconditional sadness that is sometimes called “the genuine heart of sadness”.
Problem solving is based first on thinking there is a problem and then thinking there is a solution. The concepts of problem solving can keep us stuck in thinking there is a right way and a wrong way. Instead keep you heart and mind open to whatever arises, not knowing what will happen.
When things arise, let them come; when things depart, let them go; don’t possess, don’t expect. Practice undiscriminating virtue, take care of those who are deserving, also equally take care of those who are not. These practices calm the mind and bring one into harmony with all things.
No matter how difficult a situation there is always a way to work it out. Your attitude when dealing with it is very important. Before starting, you should fully plan; after finishing deeply reflect. During action be content with small successes, do not rush or continue in the same old way.
