Difficult people teach us how to learn and grow. We all know people that complain constantly or that are irritated by everything. When we meet them, we should look for the lessons they can teach us; humility, patience, kindness, just to name a few.
Go through life without showing off or attracting attention to yourself, this will only bring the hostility of others. Accomplish all you want without attracting the scorn or envy of others. If you have to prove yourself at some point, you must use all your skills and do your best.
Make no one a foe, then harmony and tranquility will be yours. If we rule ourselves with felicity than everyone gains, and we can all live in simplicity. Let go of desire for the common good, and good will be as common as grass, and the world will in turn govern itself.
Nourishing and nurturing are not a matter reserved for the family but should concern society as a whole. Compared with nourishing your virtue, nurturing your body is secondary, only nourishing your family is selfish, and nurturing society is selfless.
