In times of scanty resources, simplicity is needed to provide inner strength for getting things done. One must draw strength from the inner for what is lacking externally.
To be of true service to another, one must serve without relinquishing herself.

Stop thinking and end your problems. If good happens it is good, if bad happens it is also good. Free yourself from unreality and delusion.
If you are dealing with irritable people, pleasant manners succeed. If you can be content with simplicity you can make good progress in whatever you do. Just be as good as you can at your work and when you attain your goal, do something to help others. If we want to know if good will follow, we must look back at our conduct and actions.
