Compassionate action, being there for others, being able to act and speak in a way that communicates, all begin with seeing ourselves when we start to make ourselves right or wrong. At that point, just contemplate there is a larger alternative and something will permanently shift in us.
The ancients observed the body as a microcosm of the universe, spiritual energy as connected to the sun, the duality of the body matched by the duality of day and night, and animals were emulated because of their innate wisdom. If we apply these ideas today, they will yield results.
In ancient times people lived simply and serenely adjusting to the energies of the day. To adjust to these energies, restore wholeness and clarity to your mind by the study of the I Ching. If you consult the I Ching with an open mind you will begin to see the patterns underlying all things.
If we are to lead others, we first must learn to serve and remain accessible and responsive to the views of those we lead. At the same time, we must have firm principles so that we do not vacillate when there is only a question of current opinion.
