All of us, including animals, believe the best way to live is to avoid pain and discomfort. A more interesting way to live is to be curious, whether the object of our curiosity is bitter or sweet. We can endure a lot to find out how we tick and how our world ticks, how the whole thing “just is”.
We cannot go back to the agrarian way of living, but we can consider the agrarian ideal. Strive in the city with its hustle and bustle and its complexity if you must, but there is little value in it. Don’t forget your quietness and don’t forget the rustic settings that bring you peace.
When you take care of things never waste anything, when you care for people never abandon anyone. If you are not attached to your own ideas, and open to what is, you will be able to care for all that come to you, they are your greatest sources of wisdom.
It is important not to get complacent about success. Do not skip any stages in your progress, go slowly step by step as though hesitant. It is important to remain mindful, conscientious, and consistent. Only such calm steady progress, overleaping nothing, leads you to your goals.
