We have what it takes to wake up, we just need some encouragement to be aware of what we think, say, and do. By cultivating a mind that does not grasp at right and wrong, you will find a fresh state of being, the ultimate cessation of suffering comes from that.
Life is in the details and as you put it together piece by piece, you must always keep the big picture in mind. Following this way, you will keep your mind and heart open, and you will not lose sight of the relationship between the microcosm and macrocosm.
The ancients used the term “not trying”, this doesn’t mean we should accept our current situation. They identify trying with forcing. To act without trying means to act without coercion. They suggest “being” as an alternative, to be that totally human person that our nature craves.
Stillness is accomplished by realizing the truth, not by resting the body but inwardly still, being aware of the body. In action you act correctly, acting in the truth, not in obedience to others, and stopping in the proper place. Both action and stillness come from mindlessness.
