The journey to peace and happiness is a process of letting go of attachments, both physical and mental. To do this, open your heart up and surrender to life, but we cannot do this on certain occasions or situations, our surrender must be constant and genuine all the time.
In all this talk about self-cultivation and spiritual devotion, there is one simple fact. You have to like it. It should make you happy. It is unfortunate that so much coercion, guilt, and fear become wrapped up in our spirituality. Why can’t we simply do things out of joy?
As society is exposed to more information than ever before, there seems to be less happiness and more trouble. You can find happiness by leading a simple, plain, and natural life. To find the simple natural way of being you must liberate your own being, then you can lead others out of the mire.
If we are to lead others we first must learn to serve. We must remain accessible and responsive to the views of those we lead. At the same time, we must have firm principles so that we do not vacillate when there is only a question of current opinion.
Quote: Half the work that is done in this world is to make things appear what they are not.
