Being alone is usually something we choose not to invite in, we desire to escape it and find someone to keep us company. Try having a relaxed, even curious relationship with loneliness, this can help us discover things about ourselves and begin to enjoy ourselves more.
The ultimate level of self-cultivation is to attain a complete stillness of mind. If one method of self-cultivation is getting dull, try other methods until you can still the mind, thinking of nothing, worrying about nothing, doing this action or non-action, until only stillness remains.
To interfere with nature is to try to seek control, this causes distress and produces exhaustion. Let things come and go effortlessly without desire. If you never expect results, you never will be disappointed; if you are never disappointed, your spirit never grows old.
By contemplating the forms that exist in nature, we come to understand the times and its changing demands. Through contemplation of the forms existing in society it becomes possible to shape the world. By this contemplation the world as ideas become manifest.
