All of us are like eagles who have forgotten we know how to fly and are trapped in our nest of old food, excrement, and stale air. We need to let go of everything and step to the edge of our nest and soar. You cannot soar and carry all the baggage with you. Let go!
In some cultures, personal contact is meaningful and closeness to the earth is a way of life. Connecting with your food, sharing it with others, knowing where it comes from, and giving thanks as we consume it will start connecting you with nature and others.
Nothing in the realm of thoughts or ideologies is absolute, because of this there is nothing more futile than relying on the mind. Quiet your thinking, quit making distinctions between one thing and another, just stay in your center, and accept all things as being part of you.
The ancients taught being humble was one of the highest virtues. Being humble is not about holding yourself back. Instead acting positively by doing things with others cooperatively and harmoniously. Respect and treat everybody equally, this is true equality.
