Time to Contemplate – Our 3rd Anniversary
We created a daily post so we could teach ourselves about the ancient philosophies and ways of living 2500-3000 years ago and how, if we adopt these ways of living in today’s world, we make our world a more peaceful place and find a more meaningful way of living.
Our writings, the four-paragraph daily post consists of our interpretations of the ancient Buddhist texts, Tao Te Ching translations of Lao Tzu’s teachings (second most published book in the world), Confucian mores, and the I Ching. There is also a selection of our interpretations of ancient I Ching (writings from around 2000 B.C) posted every Saturday. For the last 3 years we have not missed a day, teaching us to be consistent; another part of our self-cultivation practice.
Three years go we had a specific reason for a certain amount of repetition in the writings. Scientific studies are confirming that the transformational and life-affirming nature of this wisdom depends upon repetition. According to neuroscientists it is our subconscious minds that decide for us 95% of the time, which means most choices are actually dictated by our feelings. Our feelings are aligned with the comfort level of our belief structures. Our belief structure come from what we are familiar with through repetition. The four-paragraph daily post has the repetition built in.
Over the years we have posted many articles, videos, Flower Power series (teaching us about nature, more self-cultivation). With our simple, easy-to-understand translation of the 64 Hexagrams of the I Ching we added the ability for you to have your own questions answered. Give it a try and you will be amazed how the answers to your questions become clear and meaningful. For those of you unfamiliar with the idea of doing your own I Ching reading, you may want to take a look at the article on Divination to find out more – here is the link: Divination – Time to Contemplate
We hope these writings will give you a different way of looking at this beautiful planet we call mother earth and all living and non-living things on it. It is our gift to you, our readers.
