Self-importance hurts us, limiting us to our narrow world of likes and dislikes. We have alternatives, we can challenge our beliefs, our fixed version of reality and train in staying open and curious, train in dissolving our assumptions and beliefs; this is the best use of our lives.
Human nature was originally one, we were a whole, and the desire and pursuit of the whole is called love. However, the pursuit of love and compassion is not without pain and confusion. Can we still be part of the whole and connected to all living beings?
Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear? Can you remain unmoving till the right action arises by itself? Never seeking fulfillment, you are never unfulfilled. Not seeking, not expecting, being present and you will be able to welcome all things.
When inner worth mounts with great force, there is danger that when this force comes to power you may forget to ask what is right and, being intent on movement, you may not wait for the right time. Great power and force must be indissolubly united with what is right.
