Without giving up hope that there is somewhere better to be, that there is someone better to be, we will never relax with who we are or where we are. To think we will finally get it together is unrealistic. One must give up hope that these ways of thinking will bring us satisfaction.
There is great comfort in growing plants, it brings you close to the earth, nature and the seasons. Whether it is just a few plants in your home or a large garden, you are nurturing and taking care of a living things. Taking loving care of living things will bring you serenity and pleasure.
Hope and fear are both phantoms that arise from thinking about yourself. When we don’t see the self as self, what do we have to fear? See the world as yourself, treat the world as yourself, love the world as yourself, have faith in the way things are; then you can care for all things.
After finishing your own tasks, use your strength in the service of others. Help where help is needed but weigh carefully how much you can help without doing harm. Only when this feeling exists can you give yourself unconditionally, without hesitation.
Quote: “It’s a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things that you lack.” ~Germany Kent
