If we approach life as an experiment, then we are willing to try things this way and that way; either way we have nothing to lose. The trick is not to get caught up in hope and fear, remember if it is time for something to flourish it will, if not it won’t, keep experimenting.
View the transformations of the world calmly. Do not become alarmed with the different permutations of phenomena, they are merely outer transformations of indefinable, unlimited, and infinite reality. Do not become attached to what you know or how you wish to remain.
Whoever is stiff and inflexible is courting disaster, whoever is soft and yielding is a disciple of life. To save the world, develop an awareness of the subtle truths, merge your virtue with the universal virtue and extend it to the world without expectations of reward.
Don’t let yourself get swept away by unfavorable circumstances or let your steadfastness be shaken. You can avoid this by maintaining your inner peace, remaining outwardly calm and yielding. By doing this you can overcome the greatest of difficulties.
