What we regard as obstacles are not really our enemies but could be considered our teachers and friends. What we call obstacles is the way our experiences teach us where we are stuck. How we experience obstacles depends mostly on our relationship with ourselves.
If you must go to war, act with the utmost restraint. The greatest sorrow is to be a veteran; being witness to the atrocities of humanity. Being a veteran alters you forever, this is why no one rushes to be a veteran. The stakes are not merely one’s life, but one’s very humanity.
The goal is to be content with our simple everyday lives, in harmony with nature and free of desires. When there is no desire, all things are at peace. Take care of the well-being of all things by accepting responsibility for the energies you manifest, actively and subtlety.
Excess and insufficiency is going beyond the middle way. Generally, insufficiency is better than excess. When you accomplish small things, you will be able to judge if it is enough or not enough and be able to adjust your reactions so that you can stay in balance.
