Impermanence can teach you a lot about how to cheer up. Sometimes let it scare you, fear can make you start asking questions and if it doesn’t get you down, it will start you wondering. Maybe you are scared of the most exciting things you have to learn.
With the season changing to spring, we must take time to notice the constancy of inner devotion. No matter how much is going on outside of oneself, one still reaffirms what is in one’s heart. Only when we know such constancy will we know that we’re succeeding.
We can know the world, but first we must know ourselves, we can do this without going anywhere. Live a quiet, simple life, free of ideas and concepts. Find contentment in the practice of undiscriminating virtue, giving to others selflessly without expectation of reward.
People will give up counselling you if you think you know everything, so be humble, selfless, and keep your mind open and free so it can listen to and be receptive to good advice. If we cannot be influenced ourselves, we cannot influence or help others.
