Constantly apply cheerfulness, if for no other reason than just to feel good about yourself. If you are in a cheerful mood the people you meet will cheer up as well, it is infectious. If you have a sense of gratitude for everything, this will also help cheer you up.
It is our own egotism that leads us to define ourselves as individuals. Understanding the nature of compassion, we realize that our separation from others is artificial. Once we find compassion in our hearts, we will understand our essential oneness with all things.
To interfere with nature is to try to seek control, this causes distress and produces exhaustion. Let things come and go effortlessly without desire. If you never expect results, you never will be disappointed; if you are never disappointed, your spirit never grows old.
What has been spoiled by man’s fault can be made good through man’s work. Once we know the causes of decay, we must not recoil from working diligently on them, even if it is difficult. We must work tirelessly towards improving conditions in the world.
