Work with your own unacceptable stuff rather than struggling against it, you do this with loving kindness for yourself. Instead of perceiving there is a problem and a solution, just keep your mind and heart open to whatever arises and maybe the perceived problem goes away.
We must seek a level of consciousness beyond the intellect. We must study, but not to the point that the emphasis on direct experience is lost. If we combine the intellect with the emphasis on direct experience, then there will be no barrier to the wordless perception of reality.
Practice undiscriminating virtue, eliminate the illusory boundaries between yourself and others, this will bring you joy and freedom. It is not that you don’t encounter difficulties in life, but you learn to meet them calmly and openly and they become a natural part of your life.
Being still when it’s time to be still and going forward when it is time to go forward, that way rest and movement agree and will help you quiet the heart. When you become calm, then you can turn to the outside world, as you no longer see the struggle and tumult of individuals.
