Patience is the antidote to anger, by patience we don’t mean “grin and bear it”. Instead of reacting suddenly, smell it, look at it and open yourself to seeing what’s there. The journey of patience involves relaxing, opening to what is happening with a sense of wonder.
Self-cultivation means steady, gradual progress. Progress is often so subtle that we may feel the effort is futile, but we must keep doing it every day with the same enthusiasm. Be patient and you will see what the accumulation of your effort yields.
Allow your heart to empty itself of all turmoil, this will bring you utter tranquility which is your natural way of being a sense of quietude. Never to experience tranquility is to act blindly, unconsciously. To know tranquility is to embrace all things.
If we wish to know what a person is like we need only to observe on whom he bestows his care and what side of his own nature he cultivates and nourishes. If we want to take care of all things, cultivate and nourish the good parts of your character and everything will be taken care of.
