Life is glorious, but also wretched. Gloriousness, we feel inspired and connected; we want it to be like this forever. Wretchedness, life’s painful aspect humbles and softens us up. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other; one inspires us the other softness us.
There are times when matters do not go your way, you feel confused and disorientated. Whether it’s action or waiting patiently, we should always try to bring the situation back into harmony. Once we are back on track we should reflect and learn to prevent reoccurrences.
Attaining virtue is done by self-cultivation and by relinquishing your negative habits and attitudes. With utmost sincerity and living in the real world, extend your virtue to all. Do not become attached to your accomplishments, don’t take credit for anything.
Growth does not need to mean that things get larger. When we learn to unlearn what no longer serves us, things may even get smaller and better. Do more with less and yet hold more of the world in your grasp. Our job is to give gains value, and not merely learn they are there.
