When we start to interrupt calling ourselves names or patting ourselves on the back, we are doing something extremely brave. Slowly we move towards an open state, moving towards a place of no handholds, no footholds, no mind holds, giving us a feeling of freedom.
We are taught to accept only the tangible, the scientific and the material, but the key to understanding everything we need is the practice of contemplation and meditation establishing a connection with those deeper aspects of ourselves and the universe.
Passions and desires weave a binding net around you. Worldly confrontation and the trap of duality makes you stiff and inflexible. To change this, look inside your heart, keep looking, keep listening too, until the sights and sounds disappear by themselves.
Living a life of sincerity and integrity is not any guarantee against bad luck or ugly surprises. But life has learned that these traits will improve the odds of success, that working with a natural merit and practicing a natural good can be two of the best rules one can live by.
