When you fear something, you become unnerved and usually do what it tells you to do. Listen to it, even respect it, even be convinced of it, but if you don’t do what it tells you to do it has no power over you, and in this way, you defeat what you are fearful of.
When teaching others, you must be firm, consistent and patient. You may have to correct their mistakes or the bad habits they develop. However, when it comes to their curiosity, individuality, or initiative then there should never be any discouragement.
If you look to others for fulfillment, you will never be truly fulfilled. If your happiness depends on money or possessions, you will never be happy. Be content with what you have and rejoice in the way things are, then you will realize nothing is lacking.
Knowledge that is vitalizing comes from discussing and practicing applications with friends about the truths of life. This way learning becomes many-sided and takes on a cheerful lightness, rather than self taught which is more one-sided.
