You should never have expectations for others, just be kind to them. If people mess up, do anything you can to bring some happiness into their lives. Setting goals for others can be aggressive, really wanting a success story for ourselves, we are asking them to live up to our ideals.
Times of adversity cannot last forever. Even in the midst of great difficulty a tiny opportunity will open, if only by chance. You must be sharp enough to discern it, quick enough to catch it and determined enough to do something with it. If you let it pass, you will be filled with regrets.
We make a clay pot, but it is the inner empty space we use. We build a house, but it is the inner space that makes it livable. Do we create what is, to use what is not? We work with being, but nonbeing is what we use. Nonbeing and being create each other.
