We have a tendency to block, freeze or refuse to take a step into the unknown. If you step into the unknown again and again, then life becomes a process of growing up and you becoming more fearless and flexible. This adds up to an inspirational and uplifted feeling.
When disaster strikes, we can do nothing other than accept it. It alters the course of our actions and thinking. Even though disasters will change us they will pass, we must keep to our deeper convictions and remember our goals and not get caught up in the chaos.
What good is it to spend your life accumulating material things or conforming to other conventions? Live simply, virtuously true to your nature, ignore time, relinquishing ideas and concepts, drawing no line between what is spiritual and what is not.
When your work has ended look back on your conduct and the consequences of your actions. If the effects were good, then good fortune will be the result. It is only by the consequences of your actions and the fruit of your labors that you can judge what to expect.
