What seems undesirable in our lives doesn’t have to trigger habitual reactions.  We can let it remind us that the ancient teachings encourage gentleness and loving kindness towards every moment.  We can use it to encourage us to step out into that ambiguity.

Things cannot remain in stillness.  Storms and acts of nature may destroy some things, but they also prepare the way for new life.  As one thing is destroyed this makes room for new things to emerge and begin their own cycle.  All growth and all things have their own natural cycle.

There is no greater illusion than fear, no greater wrong than preparing to defend ourselves, no greater misfortune than having an enemy.  Whoever can see through all fear will always be safe.  If you understand this, peace and harmony naturally arise.

Energy that is renewing itself must be allowed to reinforce itself by rest.  The return of health after illness, the return of understanding after estrangement, both must be treated tenderly and with care at the beginning so that the return may lead to flowering.

Quote:  Stillness is the natural seed of a violent world.
