There is often a discrepancy between our ideals and what we encounter. It’s the rub between these two things, the squeeze between vision and reality that causes you to grow up, wake up, to be alive and compassionate. This rub is one of our most productive places on the spiritual path.
Water is soft, it overcomes obstacles because it is relentless. It will even wear down rocks because of its perseverance, it never gives up. If we relentlessly express our true nature and persevere, we will be successful. We acquire such perseverance by starting out as small drops.
Keeping to the receptive allows the creative to rise. The creative and the receptive are complementary sides of the same process. To be creative, accept the world as it is and return to the innocence of childhood and become receptive to all that comes your way like a newborn.
If you have opposition, do not proceed to brusquely. Limit yourself to producing gradual effects in small matters. This will help you achieve success because opposition does not preclude all agreement. Opposition can represent a polarity, that can be very useful.
