We can dissolve the sense of dualism between us and them, between this and that, between here and there, by stepping out of our comfort zone, going places, doing things that scare us and that we find difficult and wish to push away. It takes courage to do this.
To practice self-cultivation once in awhile is not enough, you must do it every day. It doesn’t matter if you are getting something out of it or whether there is a recognizable response; this is secondary. The mere act of daily self-cultivation will bring transformation.
There is no one method for attaining realization. To regard one method as the right one is to create duality, which will delay your understanding of the truth. Always keep your attitude unstructured, this will give you the freedom to learn and understand the truth.
If you have great obstacles to overcome, you can accomplish this by clear thinking, patience, and perseverance. Even though it may be arduous, you will succeed. If you understand the difficulties clearly and remain persevering, the obstacle will be overcome.
