Things come together and they fall apart. We think the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is things never really get solved. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen, room for grief, for relief, for misery, and for joy.
Death defines the limits of life. Death is one of the few givens in life and yet we fear it. The ancients believed death was not an ending, but a transformation, a threshold. Beyond it is something else some mystery, we can only be sure it is unlike this life.
Realize that all things change, then there is nothing you will try to hold on to. You cannot control the future; you might as well relax into it and accept it no matter what it brings. There is an ancient tale that says whatever happens, you look at it without judgement and say, “some good, some bad”.
The best way to fight evil is to make energetic progress towards the good. If we try to fight or compromise with evil, we lose, because we get entangled in hatred and passion. Our own faults and shortcomings should be handled the same way. If we wrestle with them, they will remain victorious.
