Life is glorious, but also wretched. Gloriousness we feel inspired, and connected, we want it to be like this forever. Wretchedness, life’s painful aspect, humbles and softens us up. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other; one inspires us, the other softens us.
Everything we see is tainted by our subjectivity, therefore all you find exists in relation to your perceptions. We make the mistake of thinking ourselves as the viewer. To realize your essential oneness with all things, remove the barrier of subjectivity that prevents this.
When we think we know the answers, we are difficult to guide. When we realize we don’t know it becomes easy to find our way. By keeping your mind open you become aware of numerous possibilities. The ancients taught of the supreme value of “Don’t-know Mind”.
In difficult times, a task can be accomplished by caution and deliberation. If we wish to achieve something we first need to investigate the forces and bring these forces to bear in the proper place and the proper time. First, we must be at the correct standpoint ourselves; only then can we work correctly.
