When we see bad habits in others, let them be and if they ask you for support, do so. Rather than complaining to them and suggesting to them that they change their ways. The best support you can give them is to listen and be present. It is amazing when people talk about their problems, they will usually come up with the answers themselves.
If we are physically attacked, we must defend ourselves the best we can. Our compassion, our humility will not help us. It is advisable to learn as much as you can about self-defense. This training will help you to work out your fears, inhibitions and anxieties.
There are three things to treasure: simplicity, patience, and compassion. Simple in your actions and thoughts and you return to the source. Patience with friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. Compassionate towards yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.
Being still when it’s time to be still and going forward when it is time. In this way rest and movement agree; this will help quiet the heart. When you become calm, then you can turn to the outside world, as you no longer see the struggle and tumult of individuals. This calmness brings peace of mind and you will act in harmony with the laws of the universe.
